Why aren’t you attending?
We as Christians are taught to make it more about Jesus and less about us. Remember what John the Baptist told Jesus? YOU must increase and I must decrease. Well to your surprise there will be no denominations in Heaven only born again blood washed people…washed in the blood of Jesus Christ. Now, I would like everyone who does NOT “believe” in this gathering process in one place, you need to attend church, let me explain as to why you should and why you should “believe”. "Does Church Attendance Matter?" Should not even be a question for you or I to have to answer. Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. If you can’t see the day approaching then satan has you blinded using the cares of life to do it.
Yes Church attendance matters because submission to God's Word matters -- "Not forsaking..." In the words of the great Forest Gump, “I may not be a smart man but I do understand this scripture”! Momma always said, “Tony make sure you take your family to church!” Thank God for Christian mommas right? The command, as this is an imperative statement is clear that it is not an issue of preference, suggestion, option or experimentation. As with every command in Scripture there is the expectation that submission to authority will bring blessing and failure to submit will bring about the withholding of the same. Jesus said, "If ye love me keep my commandments!" Oh I see you! I see the ones that holds on to the fact that “we are the church”, yes, yes, and yes!
You’re right but you are also ignorant to the fact that you must assemble yourselves together with other Christians. I do feel so sorry for those who face the one who died for the church assembly. Let me say that again, what will you say when you stand before HIM and hear Him ask, “Why didn’t you assemble into my house and worship with my people who have been called by My name to do so? Uh oh, I could be in trouble pastor…yea you might. Everywhere HE went He preached to an assembly. I mean really, what you gonna say when He says, “why didn’t you support my work financially and in attendance, when I died for the building of my kingdom “building saints”. What are the blessings of compliance? Namely, that when we come together there is communion, fellowship and a sense of intimacy that develops as we worship together.
Will you say, but Jesus there was COVID going on the government said, you can’t assemble! Uhhh HE might say render to Caesar what is Caesars but render unto God what is Gods. Jesus meets with believers who assemble together. That is his promise. Let me warn you and caution you, "...as the manner of some is..." is as the custom of some is, that is there were some who had already developed the pattern of neglect. A careful reading of this passage will reveal that unfaithfulness in attending the services of the church is a part of a process that leads to willful sin and disobedience. It matters because of the significance of the church, multimedia has made it easy for the those who dare to commit to God’s commandment of assembling. COMMANDMENT", the assembling of yourselves together..." can be translated gathering together.
I can’t tell you the number of people who never come to church, never finance HIS work, never give to HIS cause but when one of their loved ones passes, the church is the first one they call, when they need help, again they call the church. You see, the Sanctified Ones IN Ephesians 5:23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the savior of the body. 24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything. 25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; 26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
The Separated Ones is the church, the church is the ecclesia, "the called out ones." 2 Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion hath light with darkness? 15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? 16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, 18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
The Serving Ones again in Ephesians 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. I hope you understand the importance of church attendance. It is the livelihood of our country, the first church building was a school building (an assembly) the first preacher was a school teacher, the first text book….you got it was the Holy Bible. THE IMPORTANCE OF CHURCH ATTENDANCE? For you it is life or death, for me it’s a no brainer for I live to Worship the Lord Jesus Christ with my brothers and sister in the Lord. Let 2021 be the year you present yourself and your family to “not the church of your choice” but to the church assembly the church in which the Holy Spirit directs you to, the church where the truth of the Word of God comes from the pulpit, the church where you can help build the kingdom of God. Worship this coming Sunday with your particular body of believers.
